My name is Mela and I’m a lover of all things vintage. I’ve loved old things ever since I was a child. I think I was born in the wrong era. I’ve always liked to find old things, fix them up, and give them a new lease on life. It started with clothes and then furniture, but my real passion is vintage and antique glass and housewares.
One of my favorite things to do has always been going to antique shops and searching through yard and estate sales. I love to see the collections of nick knacks laid out on a table. It’s a story of peoples’ lives. I love to hear about how, “Grandma used to chop walnuts in this grinder and sprinkle them on brownies because she knew it was my favorite.” I try to incorporate those stories into my Etsy shop descriptions because it gives the items a personality and allows the memory to carry on. I love going out and finding these pieces of history and hearing from my customers about how happy they are to have found that set of mixing bowls their Grandma had and now they can make cakes for their Grandchildren in them too.
This blog is about finding these little treasures, learning about them, and passing some of that knowledge on to others who share my interests.
